Also included are records of Dunn's school and college work; her 1937 booklet on her father's Miami language study; materials concerning her 1970 honorary doctorate from Indiana University; historical notes and club papers, including one on the Old Union Cemetery; Society of Indiana Pioneers records; Christmas cards, some by Indiana artist Floyd Hopper; and photographs of Caroline Dunn, the Dunn family, the Jones family, some early views of Indianapolis, and the 1913 flood.

Jacob Piatt Dunn was a prominent journalist, historian, and political figure as well as Secretary of the Indiana Historical Society from 1886 until his death in 1924. The daughter of Jacob Piatt Dunn, Caroline Dunn was a resident of Indianapolis, Ind. She was a librarian, and spent much of her career (1939-1973) at the William Henry Smith Library of the Indiana Historical Society.
